About Morningwit

Morningwit is a small, independent puzzle site. It has two jobs. The first is to give you logic puzzles you can play in a few quiet minutes. The second is to help when a daily word or number puzzle has you stuck, without handing you the answer before you want it.

How the puzzles are made

Every board on Morningwit is built by our own code. The generator makes a complete solution first, then removes clues one at a time. After each removal a solver checks that exactly one solution is left. If removing a clue would open up a second answer, the clue stays. Every board has exactly one answer. We also run a second solver that works the way a person does, and a board only ships if that solver can finish it with the same techniques the hints teach, so you never have to guess. On Binairo the difficulty setting controls how many clues you start with. On Star Battle the label tells you which technique the board needs.

The daily puzzle is built from the date, so everyone who opens it on the same day gets the same board. You do not need an account, and there is no leaderboard.

What we keep, and what we do not

Your progress, timer setting and streak live in your own browser. We do not ask you to sign up, and the boards you play are not sent anywhere. Details are on the privacy page.
